Hemostatic agent
One of the leading death causes during traumatic accidents and wars is bleeding. A product that can control the bleeding and improves the coagulation process at the bleeding site can significantly reduce the mortality rate in these accidents. The usual coagulation-boosting methods are not fitting for coagulopathy disorder patients or patients using anti-coagulant medications (such as warfarin, clopidogrel, etc.). TEBASTOP is another member of treetta's advanced wound healing products.
Hemostatic Coagulating powder
Fast hemostatic effect
After contacting blood, TEBASTOP absorbs the serum part of blood and increases in volume, forming a blood-clot-like structure that acts as a physical obstacle against the blood flow. The granulated composition of TEBASTOP provides a vast area for it to absorb the blood's serum, improving its speed and efficacy
Interfering with the coagulation cascade at the level of XII factor
TEBASTOP Dressing works as a pre-coagulation factor, activating the XII factor and forming fibrin (clot). This product also provides a suitable environment for platelet aggregation, which make a mechanical barrier against the blood flow at the bleeding site and increases the coagulation speed.
Biocompatibility
The raw materials used in the formulation of TEBASTOP are bio-polymeric and biocompatible. Therefore, it does not induce an inflammatory or allergic reaction at the bleeding site.
Not producing heat
Not like other hemostatic products, TEBASTOP does not have an exothermic mechanism. Hence, it does not damage the surrounding tissue by producing heat.
Easy application
The powder structure and the unique packaging of TEBASTOP make for an easy application and can increase the speed of medical practitioners using the product.
How to use TEBASTOP:
- Clear the site from blood.
- Apply the TEBASTOP powder directly on the bleeding site ad needed. The powder should completely cover the bleeding area.
- Place a sterile gauze on top and apply pressure for 1 to 3 minutes.
- If bleeding continues, use more TEBASTOP powder and apply pressure for another 3 minutes.
TEBASTOP hemostatic dressing applications:
- Bleeding due to
- Trauma,
- War injury,
- Bullet wound,
- Lacerations and abrasions,
- Use of anti-coagulant medications,
In emergency cases, until patients reach a hospital, or in case of bleeding after wound debridement.
Hemostasis
Hemostasis begins at the time of injury. In the process, small vessels go through vasoconstriction, and activated platelets aggregate at the bleeding site, triggering the XII factor (to form a clot). Platelets and fibrin fibers create a web-like structure, facilitating cell migration and clot formation. The hemostasis process often leads to the control of the bleeding at the site of the damaged vessel. This process is vital for keeping the integrity of the circulation system. In some cases, such as traumatic injuries, motor vehicle accidents, war injuries, and wound debridement, the usual mechanisms for bleeding control are insufficient.
