Burn wound dressing
Gold nanoparticles are the frontier of wound healing science. They are exceptional for dealing with infected wounds. They also improve the speed and quality of the wound-healing process. treetta, a pioneer of wound healing technology, presents TEBABURN as a modern wound dressing product that uses gold nanoparticles. TEBABURN is the first wound dressing product in the world with gold nanoparticles. These gold nanoparticles showed an excellent anti-oxidant effect that can swiftly relieve the inflammation at the site of the wound. Furthermore, these particles induce the mitosis of fibroblast cells and increase the cell migration process, improving the overall speed of the healing process.
Superior anti-oxidant effects and relieving the inflammation
The natural antimicrobial agents of the body are reactive oxygen species. Although, high concentrations of reactive oxygen species in the wound result in chronic inflammation and deconstruction. treetta offers TEBABURN as an advanced wound healing product infused with gold nanoparticles. These gold nanoparticles have tremendous anti-oxidant capabilities, lowering the concentration of reactive oxygen species, relieving the inflammation in the wound, and improving the wound-healing process.
Improving angiogenesis and wound recovery
TEBABURN improves the healing process by increasing the growth and mitosis of fibroblast cells, increasing cell migration, inducing angiogenesis, anti-oxidant effect, and relieving inflammation. These few mechanisms synergize and make the healing process much faster and better.
Pain relieve
Pain is one of the main complaints in patients with burn wounds. These patients feel a lot of pain during the change of dressing. TEBABURN mitigates the pain by hydrating the nerve endings in the wound bed and lowering the bradykinin levels in the wound.
Treating the infection with wide-range antimicrobial effects
TEBABURN can penetrate the cell wall of pathogenic microorganisms, attaching to the microorganism DNA and preventing growth, mitosis, and metabolism, rendering those disabled to cause infection. The gold nanoparticle gives TEBABURN dressing both bacteriocidic and bacteriostatic capabilities, making it effective against drug-resisting microorganisms.
Hydrating the wound surface
TEBABURN uses osmosis principles to absorb the excessive exudate and discharge from the wound. If the wound is non-exudative, TEBABURN hydrates the healing surface, providing the optimal humidity for wound recovery.
Not attaching to the wound bed:
TEBABURN covers the entirety of the wound surface but does not attach to the wound bed and can come off pain-free without damaging the healing tissue underneath.
Clearing the wound from pathogenic microorganisms
As you can see in the picture captured by scanning electron microscope before and after applying TEBABURN dressing to the wound, the antimicrobial effect of TEBABURN has annihilated the pathogenic microorganisms.
In the figure, you can see two SME pictures of E.coli bacteria before and after exposure to TEBABURN. As you can see in the first picture, the integrity of the E.coli cell wall is intact, but after exposure to TEBABURN, there are a lot of pores inside the cell wall, causing the bacteria to die.
Some of the common microorganisms that are affected by TEBABURN:
Gram-positive | Gram-negative |
Staphylococcus aureus | Pseudomonas aeruginosa |
Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus | Escherichia coli |
aureus (MRSA) | Enterobacter cloacae complex |
Bacillus Subtilis | Klebsiella pneumoniae |
The TEBABURN's mechanism of action on each microorganism:
How to use TEBABURN
- Clean the wound by washing serum (normal saline) or an antiseptic solution.
- With a sterile scissor, cut a piece of TEBABURN equal to the surface area of the wound.
- Dip the TEBABURN piece into some distilled water for 3 minutes.
- Cover the bed of the wound entirely with the TEBABURN.
- Dip a sterile gauze into distilled water and place it on top of the TEBABURN.
- Then cover the dressed wound with a secondary bandage.
Dressing change: remove the secondary bandage, moisten the dressing using washing serum (normal saline) and remove the dressing. Additionally, do not cover the secondary bandage fully with tape.
The period between the dressing changes depends on the amount of discharge from the wound. But TEBABURN can stay on for 24 to 72 hours.
